Lionel Richie Hospitalised After St. Louis Concert

American music icon Lionel Richie has been hospitalised following his recent concert in St. Louis, Missouri, where doctors are conducting further tests on the 77-year-old singer.

Richie checked himself into a local hospital after performing at The Muny on Saturday, August 29. A source close to his tour told Rolling Stone that the singer sought medical attention as a precaution and was “doing okay.”

However, new reports indicate that Richie remains in intensive care undergoing cardiac tests. According to People, he is expected to return home by Wednesday, September 2, though no official diagnosis has been released.

Concern arose during Saturday’s performance when Richie appeared fatigued and requested a chair while performing his hit “All Night Long.” He completed the song seated before leaving the stage.

This marks the second health scare in two months. On June 24, Richie ended his concert early in St. Paul, Minnesota, after feeling dizzy. Two shows were postponed, but he resumed performing days later, attributing the incident to dehydration.

Despite the latest setback, Richie’s tour remains active, with upcoming shows scheduled for San Francisco, Chicago, and Columbus, followed by a Las Vegas residency in October.
