Bank of Ghana & SEC Warn Public Against Crypto Scam
The Bank of Ghana (BoG) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have issued a stern warning to the public about a fraudulent cryptocurrency investment platform known as “Daily Wealth Guide.”
In a joint statement, the regulators described the scheme as a scam, cautioning Ghanaians not to deposit funds or engage with its operators. The individuals behind the platform are reportedly enticing unsuspecting investors with promises of unrealistically high returns, amounting to illegal deposit-taking activities.
The warning follows the circulation of a doctored video falsely showing former President John Dramani Mahama endorsing the platform. Both BoG and SEC have confirmed that the video is fake and should not be considered evidence of any government or regulatory approval.
Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant and verify all investment opportunities through official channels before committing funds.
